STRENGTHENING OF THE BRIDGE CARL-FRANCKE-STRAßE IN BREMEN (GERMANY)
In order to strengthen the Carl-Francke-Straße bridge in Bremen (Germany; year of construction 1970) more than 300 inclined Hybridanker type CoP have been supplied. The existing concrete box girder will be strengthened by means of transversal bar tendons. The Hybridanker plates are provided with factory-produced inclination, threaded sleeves for the connection of a cap and a 75 cm long connecting tube made of PE. Additionally, the plates can be applied onto the old concrete, without additional bursting reinforcement.

DCP STRAND ANCHORS 4 X 0.62″ FOR MYANMAR
For the execution of DCP strand ground anchors with 4 strands 0.62“ from supplier Dywidag Systems Int. Far East Ltd. in Myanmar, over 200 Hybridanker plates type CoP have been shipped to Thailand. The plates are provided with threaded sleeves and a plastic connection tube. Pictures from the working site will follow after installation.
TEST ANCHORS A26 DANUBE BRIDGE LINZ (AUSTRIA)
In Linz (Austria) a new suspension bridge over the Danube is going to be built. Within the preparation works Hybridanker plates type CoP for the execution of test anchors with 12 strands 0.62“ have been supplied. These Hybridanker plates are provided with in factory manufactured angle compensation, threaded sleeves for a protection cap and grouting inlets/vents. In order to save weight an octagonal shape was chosen. The installation was carried out by DSI Underground Austria GmbH.
RETROFITTING IPO DAM (NORZAGARAY, THE PHILIPPINES)
Hybridanker help to retrofit Ipo dam at the Philippines as anchor plates for DCP bar ground anchors from supplier DYWIDAG-Systems International Far East Ltd. The plates are provided with a conical hole for the spherical nut, threaded sleeves and grouting inlets/vents.
CONTRUCTION OF A SLENDER UHPC-PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE IN BERNRIED (GERMANY)
Hybridanker type CAB have been used to achieve the construction of a slender pedestrian bridge made of fibre-reinforced Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC). The plates were embedded within the bridge for anchoring the post-tensioning forces from the monostrand tendons. The pedestrian bridge is 11 m long and its slenderness is 1:70 (15 cm plate thickness). The design of the anchor zone was adapted due to the tight arrangement of the tendons considering the excellent properties of UHPC. The pedestrian bridge was manufactured by matrics engineering GmbH.
WIDENING OF HOCHSTRAßE ELBSMARSCH A7 (PILOT PHASE)
Hybridanker helps widening of Germanies longest road bridge “Hochstraße Elbmarsch”, A7 in Hamburg (3,8 km) within a pilot phase (100 m). Macalloy 1030 32 mm bars are connected to the old transverse PT bars with special couplers. Hybridanker CAB have been used for anchoring the Macalloy PT bars. Installation and PT works are performed by BBV Systems GmbH.
SELF DRILLING HOLLOW BARS IN AUSTRIA
For the installation of self drilling hollow bars in Austria (Bundesland Kärnten) Hybridanker type HA with 15° inclination have been supplied. The plates feature in factory produced inclination and threaded sleeves for fixation of a protection cap. Installation was performed by DSI Underground Austria GmbH.
DCP GROUND ANCHORS NEAR KLAGENFURT (AUSTRIA)
For the installation of DCP strand ground anchors near Klagenfurt (Austria) Hybridanker type CoP with 17° inclination have been installed. The main features for these Hybridanker are: connection by means of a plastic ribbed duct, recess to house the cap, sockets to fix the cap, air vent from inside to face and sockets to lift the plates. Installation was performed by DSI Underground Austria GmbH.
THE STRENGTHENING OF THE INN BRIDGE NEUHAUS-SCHÄRDING – ANCHOR BLOCKS
For strengthening of the Inn Bridge Neuhaus-Schärding Hybridanker type HA were additionally installed at the anchor blocks within the box girder for the longitudinal strand tendons. The anchor blocks were built for the strengthening works with external strand tendons and they were provided with bar tendons for absorption of the resulting forces from prestressing. Installation of the bar tendons was performed by ANP-Systems GmbH.
THE STRENGTHENING OF THE INN BRIDGE NEUHAUS-SCHÄRDING – TRANSVERSAL BAR TENDONS FOR FLOOR SLAB
The border bridge made of prestressed concrete between Neuhaus (Germany) and Schärding (Austria) built in 1973 was strengthened in 2017 by means of external strand tendons in longitudinal direction and with bar tendons in transversal direction. Horizontal drilling (inclined in plan view) of the concrete floor slab was required for installation of the transversal bar tendons. Due to the inclination of the webs of the box girder and the inclination in plan view, Hybridanker type HA with inclination in two directions were used. Additionally, the Hybridanker type HA could be placed onto the old concrete, without additional bursting reinforcement. Installation was performed by ANP-Systems GmbH.
SUSPENSION BRIDGE ST. ANTON AM ARLBERG (AUSTRIA)
The abutments and foundation of a new suspension bridge near St. Anton (Austria) were prestressed with bar anchors. For this purpose threaded bars with ball nuts were used. Hybridanker type HA both straight and 15° inclined with in factory produced grouting inlet and vent were installed. The lighter Hybridanker made the installation and prestressing operations easier. Installation was performed by DSI Underground Austria GmbH.
TEST BRIDGE BAM BERLIN
For prestressing of a test bridge in the material lab Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und –prüfung (BAM) in Berlin Hybridanker type CoP for threaded prestressing bars with flat nut were used. Installation has been performed by BBV Systems GmbH.
HYBRIDANKER HA, CoP & CAB
RAILWAY BRIDGE SPOORBYPASS MECHELEN (BELGIUM)
The steel superstructure needed to be connected to the abutments with very high loads. This was realized with prestressing thread bars up to 75 mm in diameter. The distance within anchorages of the bars was extremely limited and arrangement of confining spirals was nearly impossible. Anchorages with up to 23° inclination have been used. Installation has been done by DYWIDAG-Systems International GmbH.
THE STRENGTHENING OF A BRIDGE NEAR HILDESHEIM
The unreinforced, concrete, arch bridge from 1910 was strengthened using internal, bonded, bar tendons. Horizontal drilling of the arch bridge was used for the installation and anchorage of the 4 meter long, transverse, prestressing, steel tendons. The Hybridanker CoP was produced with an inlet for grouting. Additionally, the Hybridanker CoP could be placed onto the new concrete addition without additional bursting reinforcement. Installation had been done by BBV-Systems GmbH.
THE STRENGTHENING OF THE BUCHERGRABEN BRIDGE
The existing prestressed concrete bridge was strengthened with external wire tendons of DYWIDAG-Systems International GmbH. For the Installation and anchorage of the tendons at the back side of the transversal girders boreholes were executed. Because of the longitudinal inclination of the bridge and the deviation of the external tendons the Hybridanker CoP were produced with a factory-provided inclination. The Hybridanker were tested according to ETAG 013. Therefore load transfer near the webs of the box girder and smaller edge and center distances could be realized compared to design steel anchor plates. Moreover the Hybridanker CoP could be placed onto the existing concrete without additional strengthening methods.
THE STRENGTHENING A PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BRIDGE
The Rettenbach bridge was strengthened with external tendons. For the anchorage of the external tendon forces some concrete blocks needed to be connected to the webs of the box girder. Therefore prestressing bars were applied together with Hybridanker HA. Using Hybridanker allowed reduced edge and center distances and an easy formwork because of the factory-provided inclination. Installation had been done by ANP-Systems GmbH.
THE STRENGTHENING THE RHINE LOCK NEAR IFFEZHEIM
The sill of the lock was strengthened using strand anchors. The load transfer was performed by Hybridanker. Several advantages like high durability, little weight and the possibility to put the Hybridanker directly onto the existing concrete led to the preference of the Hybridanker solution.
